Digital healthcare scene is already on a roll in the US and is booming in Europe as well.

Innovation Forum Imperial recognises the rising of a digital healthcare industry in the U.K. and globally, and there are ambitious plans developing for the transformation of healthcare industry. We would like to provide a platform for the stakeholders from academia, policymakers, and private sectors to discuss and provide insights, and to promote collaborations and sustain improvements across the digital healthcare ecosystem. In collaboration with Imperial Enterprise lab, Innovation Forum presents everyone from any background an opportunity to gain bite-sized updates and insights into digital healthcare scene.

The event will consist of a series of short talks followed by a panel discussion and a networking session. 7 speakers have been selected to provide a landscape of digital healthcare from different perspectives, including academia, start-ups and investors. Food and drinks will be provided during the networking session.

Jaysze Yong is a final year PhD candidate at Imperial College London, jointly funded by Department of Surgery and Cancer, Imperial College and the International Imperial College PhD programme. Her PhD focuses on molecular oncology, specifically on epigenetics, transcription factor profiles, gene expression analysis to investigate signalling pathways leading to breast cancer development and drug resistance.

Prior to the PhD, Jaysze completed MRes with distinction at Imperial College London in cancer biology. She currently works at Innovation Forum Imperial College London as the President.

Dr Eduardo Aguilar Pelaez's career has spanned academia, startups and global companies in the technology space. As Head of Technology at Helix, he guides the engineering roadmap, and works with the designers and clinicians to bring innovations to life. Prior to Helix, he was a Product Manager at onefinestay, covering mobile, enterprise software and IoT systems, including the Sherlock smart lock product (now Prior to that, he worked on high performance computing, and earlier was a co-founder of Ervitech, a medical technology company focused on a miniature wearable breathing monitor based on his PhD research. Eduardo also worked at CERN on the Beam Conditions Monitor as part of the ATLAS and LHC's safety systems.

Prof Paul Leeson is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford and a Consultant Cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He is also Head of the Oxford Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility and leads a research group that combines machine learning with cardiovascular imaging to identify novel biomarkers of early disease.The findings are being turned into software applications for use in the clinic by the University of Oxford spin out, Ultromics.

Nicolaus is the global leader of McKinsey Analytics and chairman of QuantumBlack, an advanced-analytics firm operating at the intersection of strategy, technology, and design.

Guiding a team of more than 3,000 data scientists, platform engineers, and analytics consultants, Nicolaus oversees our efforts to bring insights from big data and advanced analytics into our advisory work. This often involves working with clients to evaluate strategic moves, foster operational transformations, and build capabilities to capture opportunities from data and analytics. He also enhances our ability to deliver distinctive analytics-based consulting by pursuing investments in talent and technology and establishing new strategic partnerships.

Nicolaus’ passion for analytics was largely inspired by his work serving institutions in the healthcare sector. As the leader of our global Healthcare Systems & Services Practice for more than a decade, he saw firsthand the potential for data analytics to improve the quality of management and strategic decision making. Working with more than 50 health systems around the world, he led efforts to pursue analytics-based opportunities such as the potential to integrate care by using population-oriented delivery models.

Strongly interested in discussion and debate, Nicolaus frequently offers his perspectives on the future of healthcare, data, and analytics at events hosted by Forbes, the Milken Institute, the World Economic Forum, and other institutions. He also convenes private gatherings of executives to network and share their insights on big data and healthcare topics.

Beyond his client advisory work, Nicolaus serves on the board of Innovations in Healthcare at Duke Medicine, an organization that he helped found, and on the dean's advisory council at Harvard’s Kennedy School. He holds a master’s in public administration from Harvard, where he was a John J. McCloy scholar.

Dr Isabel Van De Keere is the Founder & CEO of Immersive Rehab, a Virtual Reality digital health startup that focuses on the creation and development of physical & neuro-rehabilitation programmes in Virtual Reality that improve patient recovery. The goal is to increase the effectiveness of physical & neuro-rehabilitation, to reduce referral times, to make rehab fun and engaging, and to have a better patient outcome. Following a long physical rehab period Isabel went through herself due to a work accident, she decided to start Immersive Rehab in September 2016. With an MSc degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and as a Doctor in Biomedical Engineering, Isabel is passionate about healthcare technologies, digital health, immersive technologies (VR/AR) and its applications in healthcare, using tech for good, social entrepreneurship, and promoting women in tech.

Addicted to Digital Transformation with 30 years experience in Biology, Genomics, Market Intelligence, IT portfolio, product, program, project and line management. Ulf got his PHD in Microbiology at the Max-Planck-Institute for terrestrial Microbiology Marburg. After postdoc awardee his business stations where the Georg Thieme Verlag, Stuttgart and the Bertelsmann AG (Lycos Europe GmbH) before he joined Bayer in 2002. Since 2015 he is Digital Innovation Manager, supporting Bayer’s path in Digital Transformation. He enjoys mountain- and racing-biking, soccer and guitar playing.
